Hey all,
I am looking for advice to bolt a skid plate to the front cross member on my 95 EX. Been searching, and found welded, and bottom mount styles.
It will be bolted to a cross bar I attached between the frame rails up front, but for mounting it in the rear I am asking for advice. I don't want to weld it, I want it to be removed easy enough for maintenance.
I want it to the front of the cross member so I dont have to worry about dragging the bolts on the underneath. Pictures are much appreciated
So...how to attach it? Drill the holes, and is that safe? Will it weaken the cross member?
Can the cross member be tapped for a bolt? I dont see how I can get a washer & nut inside it.
Try to use the C-clips for the bolts? (These will require a 2nd hole drilled.)
The skid is 1/4" steel plate. I have yet to bend the rear tab for cross member attachment. Just making sure it can be done to the front b4 it is bent.
Thanks in advance. I have been wanting to get this done for a long time now.
