Hey guys! what shock absorbers would you recommend to put onto my 96 xl I need to get all 4 done. Looking to do this cheap as possible but with still getting the best shocks for my money. Also I'm looking to do a body lift, any suggestions on parts and what the easiest and cheapest way to go is. Something like shackles and leaf springs thanks for your time. Cheers. Azy

I put KYB Gas-A-Justs on my 96. Great on-road, and on country dirt roads. I don't off-road. I paid $138.13 shipped total on eBay

You'll probably want shocks designed for a lift, since they're often position sensitive. I don't know all the brands that offer something but probably Rancho are cheaper than Bilstein.

Rancho RS5000s work very well.

KYB Gas-A-Just. They are high pressure monotubes, better technology than the regular low pressure dual tubes, same like Bilstein.
Also, the V8 engines have a 5th shock at the rear axle (axle damper).

^ If his lift is for offroading, might want to get the KYB Monomax over the Gas-A-Just which IMO are more for on-road use.

I'm sure he'll be happy to know that the KYB $40 rebate on 4 shocks, ended last month... no idea when it's coming back again, maybe next spring. Rancho has a rebate that's still current till the end of June, at least $50 off 4 shocks, but not valid for purchases made on eBay et al auction sites:
