when i started my 01 explorer, it immediatly stalled. several more attempts with the same result. holding my foot on the gas it would stay running, letting off it would idle less than 500 rpms for about a second and stall. reseting the computer didn't work. to fix it i disconnected the battery(to reset the computer), wound in the idle set screw, reconnected the battery cable, and let it run about 5 minutes.then i wound the idle screw out slowly until the computer picked up the idle. i then wound the idle screw to its original position and shut the ignition off. if you have this problem this fix worked for me and it hasn't done it since.
