low idle / slight surging at stops

I am a new guy. Just bought a 02 Sport Trac 4WD.

I have a intermittant slight surging / low idle when stopped at a light and in drive. doesn't do it in park.

goes from 700 RPM down to 400 and back up.

Will check for cracked PCV elbow.

Check engine codes suggest MAF sensor. I'll clean it first - $95 dollar part

Any other suggestions or am I on the right trac?

You were right

Changed rotted elbow, cleaned MAF, cleaned idle control. Engine light off. No more rough idle. Napa cut to fit heater hose part for $16 works just fine for the elbow. Thanks

What did you clean the MAF with?

Use CRC Mass Air Flow cleaner. Most other solvents are too strong.
