I need to replace my lower ball joints and everywhere keeps saying that I will have to replace the entire lower control arm. Is this true? Because I just bought lower ball joints 0.o

No, you can press out the old joint.

For the price of a complete arm a lot of folks go that route, because you get new bushings also.

as long as your old lower control arm isn't wallowed out, you don't need to replace it to change the lower bj. even if it is, they sell a slightly larger bj. the OE upper control arm is a different story. it must be replaced. there's a really good STICKY on this forum, with pics, for replacing bj's.

Note: if you have a 2wd, 4wd or AWD the process is the same.

And to think that, at one time long ago, "bj" meant to me ONLY the game of chance I found to be so glitteringly seductive.....BlackJack! imp
