Lower Intake Manifold Bolts

I want to torque down the lower intake manifold bolts in my 94 Explorer Sport. Is it really necessary to disconnect everything from the upper intake and remove it completely, or can I just disconnect enough items so that I can move the upper manifold out of the way so that I can get access to the bolts?

I tighten the lower intake manifold bolts on mine without removing anything from the upper intake manifold or the upper manifold itself. Requires a few wobble extensions to get to the nut next to the firewall, but, after having done it a few times, it's not a big deal.
Whatever you think is easiest for you.

dont mean to break into your thread, but do i have to remove anything to tighten the lower intake manifold bolts on a 97sohc?
