So, this morning on the way to work I drive daily down this 2 lane windy road from my mtn. home to the city of San Diego. Anyways, typical windy Mtn. road and I'm stuck 2nd back behind a slow Semi in my daily driver Civic. No biggie, I'm not the type that has to haul ass and I'm content behind the truck. Anyways, the truck pulls over and lets us by. The lowered Accord in front of me instantly takes off like a rocket. You know typical lowered Honda with the big tail pipe, 18" rims, and he thinks he's a racer. Well did I mention it was raining? I follow him into the first left hand corner and luckily there was no oncoming traffic cause his rear end decided it wanted to be 1st and spun him around across the oncoming lane into the hill side which just happened to be basically a vertical wall of granite. He went in back passenger corner first which whipped him around and took out the whole rear end. I stopped and he was okay. Couldn't get it to start though, so he popped the hood and found the battery cable had popped off. Put it on and he started it up and drove it while I pushed him outta the small ditch he was in and off the rock. His front passenger tire must have clipped something too cause it wasn't exactly verticle anymore. Anyways, the guy was alright and I doubt when he gets his car fixed he'll be hauling ass in the rain anytime soon.

i think that a driver's license is too easy to get. in Germany it takes about a year to get one and you need lots of driving time before ou can take the test. in PA, all i had to do was parallel park and drive less than 1/4 mile (out of the parking lot, and turn around in the next one).

I didn't even have to drive. Just had to take a test on a computer, that was incredibly easy.

So the next question was this hwy 67 to el cajon or hwy 78 to escondido or the back road from the estates past barona casino. I love watching people do it. The best is the people that pass you in the snow up in julian then are in the ditch at the next turn. also Ramona isn't a mountain town you flatlander:D :D The mpountains are Julian where I am from.

P.S. I'll make sure i tell my parents to flush twice so they can send you some extra water:D :D

I love people that know about Ramona and the crap of a town that it is. It was on 78 down to Escondido. If you're familiar with the area that they basically took out a mtn about 4 years ago to make a turn out about half way down the grade. It's the 1st left hander past the parking area on the right as you're heading down. And yeah, okay Ramona isn't exactly Mtn. I would consider the Mtn to start at Dudley's but it has snowed at my house so that's gotta count for something. And if you want to be exact I was actually driving to work in Orange County, not San Diego, I just drive through San Diego on the first part of my 95 mile commute to work. Only 4 more days of that crap though!!!

Did you grow up in Julian? Did that suck? I grew up in PQ which kinda sucked but I couldn't imagine growing up in Ramona and it seems like Julian would be worse although the people up there are probably way more friendly. the tourist would drive me crazy though!!! I go through Julian about once a year just to see if anything is different ont he way out to the desert.

I know that corner you are talking about. they did alot of work on that corner.

Yeah I was born in Julian lived there till I was 2 then to san diego and back when I was 13. I enjoyed it. There wasn't much to do up there but my parents were cool taking me places till I got my licence then letting me use the car when I could drive. Yeah the tourist suck but once you know the back roads you can get around pretty quick. My parents live over at lake cuyamaca so we dont deal with many tourist. Sucks waking up a view of the lake and the mountains in the background :D

I agree with leenjen. I think that a DL is way to easy to get. I had to back up in a straight line 2 car lengths. Woopadeedo! I also started driving when I was 8 years old and probably have more driving experience from before I had my license than now I that I have it.
