I know this is being discussed now, but being new, the questions and responses are all over the place, so I guess I'll just ask again... What is the easiest ( and safest) way to lower a 98 xlt awd (I'm not sure if it is different than the 4x4 or not)? I really only want to lower it 2 inches, I plan on putting 22" rims, so I dont need to lower too much....any help would be appreciated..

Thanks:eek:

there is only one way to do it. remove the front torsion bolts and add some 2" blocks in the rear. be sure to have it aligned afterward.

awd4r1, Welcome to the site. Like James said you want to back out the T-Bolts and get blocks in the rear. If you search you will see lots of info on it. Also check out my home page, there is a write up there.
