lowering a4ld to help with angles?

how low can you drop the rear trans before putting to much stress on the front motor mounts?i was planing on dropping about an 1.5" would that be safe?
 






That's fine- you'll land the Y-pipe on the radius arm crossmember before it tweaks too badly.
 






ive got jd arms on so i dont have to worry about.i cut the mount off my trans crossmeber and going to use a differnt trans mount and its giving me about a 1.5 drop

does anyone know if there is a trans mount that has the plate mount on both side,like the part that mount to the trans not the cross member side that has bolts.i want to be able to sit it flat on a new cross member then put bolts through the bracket into the new cross member?
