Well, I was reading the owner's manual and looks like I need to lubricate the chassis. Does anyone know where and with what I need to lube the chassis on a '97 4x2 4.0 with auto tranny.

Thanks

let me also add to this question. WHAT THE HECK IS A CHASIS LUBE??? oil change? i had the same thought in my had too when i first read over the owners manual. I have a '98 5.0L XLT with almost 70,000 miles on it. took it to the dealer once at 4,000 miles for "routine maintainance". cost me a friggin arm and a leg for an oil change and what ever stupid crap they did if any. havent been back since. so what is a chasis lube?

They lubricate the grease fittings on the various suspension components. Tie rod ends, etc. Its good to do while you are under there changing the oil.

Didn't think the 95+ had any grease fittings . At least mine doesn't have any that I've seen.

All I grease on mine is the linkage for the gear selector on the tranny. there are no other grease fittings I know of otherwise

I believe you may be able to add a grease fitting to the tie rod end. You have to remove a factory fitting on the top of the tie rod and replace it with a grease fitting. I am not sure regarding the rest of the chassis. Anyone?

Most moog Chasis parts are greaseable. Love my moog.
