Hey, just wanted to let other owners know about a problem I solved. The Ford Mach radio in our 1999 Mountaineer has been making weird buzzing noises which I isolated to the CD player's loading motor running. It's been cycling for over a year now. The CD player thought it had to load a CD even though one wasn't present. I pulled out the radio and removed the CD player section. I found a very small circuit board located on top of the unit. The board has a small IR sensor. The mate to it is on the lower main circuit board of the CD player. I both sensors with alcohol and although they didn't seem that dirty, it solved the problem. The CD load motor is quite and everything works. Load a CD and it loads perfectly. Don't know if this is a one-off problem or not but thought I'd let owners know. Hope it helps someone out there.

I have this same issue in my newly acquired XP8, and it's been driving me crazy. Plan to pull the radio and report back.

Thanks
