Should be whichever one sends a signal. It'll also change as the rpms change, so whichever that is I believe. Looks through Aldive's HHO thread, he has a link in which he describes how to install it. Should help.

i looked through the alchemy thread, it showed how to put one on a 98, i looked at my sensor, doesnt look like that

Im thinking mine was the lt. blue/red stripe wire, but it's been a while. There should b4 wires. One has B+, one (black) is ground. One has about 5v, the last is the signal to the ECM.

Just be careful adjusting the MAF- make really small adjustments and then drive it to allow the pcm to adjust to the new settings.

A lot of info can be found at ** company name and link removed **

yeah i started it at stock and made small increments, i still have it a very small increment

If you want an inexpensive way to monitor the MAF voltage along with the other sensor readings you may want to do an Ebay search for the " ELM327" device. I paid less than $30 with shipping from China. It hooks up to a laptop and interfaces with your vehicle and can give you live sensor data as well as instant fuel economy.

I am a Ford dealer Shop Foreman with 20 years at the dealer and i've owned numerous Ford Explorers- GREAT vehicles! My 94 had 270,000 miles on it when i sold it and it ran like a new one!

I think Alan is right. The research I have done says it's the light blue wire with the red tracer stripe. Ground your voltmeter's negative lead and probe the light blue/red wire with the voltmeter's positive lead to confirm the blue/red wire has varying voltages oscillating up and down with varying voltage readings, anywhere between 0 and 5 volts, as you rev the engine a bit. If you get varying, instead of constant voltage, it should confirm that this is the correct wire.

I put an hho booster in a 1999 Escort and it also has the same blue/red wire in the MAF sensor. I am waiting on some 02 extenders and a MAF enhancer to see if I can significantly improve on the paltry 2 mpg gain I have gotten so far. If I get the improvement I hope for I will be installing another booster in my 2002 4.0L SOHC Explorer XLT.

Good Luck

you waittin on an o2 extender? man i hope to hell you didnt buy an o2 extender for to much, could have saved you some money, go to your local auto part store, and buy spark plug fouler pack (normally 2 for 4.99) and drill em out, that is all they are!!!

Thanks. I know. My auto parts store only had 14mm. I got two of the 18mm I need off eBay for less than 12 bucks delivered.

Cheers

thats cool, i was afraid you got scammed for one of them where they were asking like 15 plus shipping, that is crazy!

oh yeah, did you try the wrap method? wrap them a few times tightly in tin foil?

when i hooked in my maf, it was the blue with red stripe on it :-D

Didn't try the tin foil trick. I wanted a more permanent solution, because if my tin foil decided to work loose it would happen on a 14 degrees below zero day half way home on a 100 mile trip. :(.

I do, however, wear a tin foil hat, from time to time, while watching TV. It improves my comprehension. :D

lol i wear one to, on full moon nights, darn aliens.

lol, your suppose to use wire ties to keep em on, mine are wrapped for now, i have the spark plug fouler drilled out, just need to put it on, good luck

Too funny on the foil hat. :D

When you are finished fine-tuning your installation please let us know...

Type of vehicle booster is installed in.
Type of booster installed (Water4gas, WaterFuelForAll, Smack, etc.)
Add-ons (02 extenders, MAF enhancer, flash-back arrestor, etc.)
Where you taped into fuel inlet (PCV line, plenum just before throttle body, or both)
MPG gain, if any.

Thanks
