Guys her is my story.
Bought my 2006 Explorer in the fall of 2012. It has 41,x.. on it and was basically driven short distances (Retired farm couple owned it).
I went thru it and changed plugs and filter, Etc. about 2000 miles into owning it, I noticed a vibration or shudder at about 2000 rpm and when the engine was under load. Pulling a trailer made the issue worse. SO i figured that the tranny fluid was a little old and worn caused by the age and short trips it had been used for. So I had the fluid flushed. The problem still persisted, so I bent over and took it to a dealer. the tech hopped in and not more than a 1/4 mile down the road, he said the problem is a misfire. I found I had a cracked spark plug. Shudder fixed!!
Now here is the real issue, ever since having the tranny flushed, i am having a Major issue when i am at road speed and break hard or stop quickly for traffic ! there is a 2-3 sec delay before the transmission engages. and If I am not careful, and try to accelerate to quickly, the transmission will slam into gear. Is this issue caused by an improper flush job, clogged solenoids ? Or could the shift solenoids be going bad!
I don't want to keep dumping $100 bills into flushing the tranny, hoping the problem gets solved. but over the last 2 months or so the problem is getting worse. it almost seems as if the fluid is low, and when I break hard the fluid transfers to one Side of the pan and the pick up tube is grabbing only air.
Anyone else experienced this issue or something very similar?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
