ok so i got a 92 explorer sport for my 17th birthday, my parents got it maybe 2 years old so its in amazing shape and it has barely 170k miles. ive been slowly trying to fix it up with a part time salary so its gonna take some time. it was completely stock because my pops was mature and spend his money on more grown up things :P any way since the 5 months that i had it i put the basic upgrades nothing major. i put in a sony radio for the time being, kicker speakers to replace the 18 yr old factory ones, tints all around, and alarm. doesnt seem like much but my college bank account is feeling it. right now i have a sub and amp ready to be installed along with a valor in dash dvd. after having the interior done i want to move on to bigger things. my plans after having the basic audio/video done is to put in a center console (where can i get these?) install an air intake (leaning towards K&N, ideas?), flowmaster 40 series delta exhaust, 6000k hid headlight, add foglights (anyone have any ideas how i can do this?), new rims, euro taillights, chrome billet grille, headlight frames to match, running boards, front/rear bumper, and the last thing i want to do it put a crisp shiny new candy red paint job. trying to finish by winter 2011. So the questions i have are:
What is the biggest size rims i can put on my ex without having problems? i know the stock are 15" but i dont know what i have to do if i want larger ones.
can anyone point me somewhere where i can get most of the things i want (grille, bumpers, center console, "ford exclusive parts" because every i look when i type in 92 ford explorer a bunch of universal parts come up -.- i really hope you guys can help signed up to this forum cuz i wanna do a good job at fixing up my first car. thanks alot everyone.

P.S please feel free to add in any extra ideas, thoughts, correct me. i will add pictures shortly.
P.P.S does ANYONE know where in brooklyn i can go to replace cloth interior ceiling there was a leak before and when it rained the cloth just sagged now and it looks like a huge air bubble but i cant find any shop that does upholstery :( help

I'm not sure about your upholstery problem, but I'm thinking that it's probably a seal around the windshield. If you've fixed that and you need the headliner redone you probably should just call around to custom shops or body shops and see where they'd send you to.

As for most of your parts, take a look at an LMC Catalog, they sell everything from the right front suspension bolt and nut to the safety sticker on the sun visor.. Definitely a good source to find specific parts that WILL fit your Explorer. For everything else look on ebay, you can follow this link I have bookmarked to automatically view a list for parts associated with first generation explorers:
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/?...ke=Ford&_odkw=1993+ford+explorer&_osacat=6030

I think you're on the right track with your plans, but think long and hard if the money you're about to put into this vehicle will be worth it. Just think about it, the money you're about to invest into a 17 year old vehicle will cost more than what the vehicle is worth.

As for rims/tires, you'll have to search around. Different lifts allow you different options, but I think I've seen peopel with 20's on 'em before. Or close to it.
