Today, I received a recall notice in the mail from Firestone. When I first had my Rancho lift installed in
'97 back in Michigan, shortly after, I had my Firestones
replaced. The tires were beginning to show metal threads,
so I bought the next best thing - Sears TRAILHANDLERS.
These Trailhandlers are now on Suzanne's YJ, and I'm ready for a new set of tires since the Swampers are going bald.
Is there a way that I could convince Firestone to buy me another set of tires? Or, should I just throw the notice in the trash? Any advice would help me save big $$.

good luck

i would just suck it up and spend the cash but the only thing they can say is no so its your call

more likely than not your sol. The best thing you could do is make firestone pay for the tires you HAD replaced in 97. Then take that money and put it towards some 33s. The problem with that though is you need two things.....the receipt for the tires as well as a "dealer claim form" saying you replaced a pair of Firestones. Then you fill out a form saying where to send the money and you're off. The problem is to get the claim form you need to have the serial numbers off the firestones, and since I'm sure you're like me you don't have them anymore. I'm debating about going to a junkyard and finding 4 numbers and sending those in as the tires I replaced......but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk or not.
