i was at a website and it said u can still have "4x4" on the fly with manual hubs. i just have to lock the hubs then hit the "4x4" button when neccessary.

is this true?

Yes this is true. Mine has worked for about 3 years now (when the t-case shift motor cooperates)with no problems.

excellent! i assume that u dont have to back up 20 feet when u shut it off right?

You got it! Not to mention you know the hubs are engaded.

oh this is soo great!!! i am soo thrilled! im gunna order them as soon as i can scrounge-up some moola!

You will lose a bit on the MPG though...as well as the added wear and tear on the front end a bit. But other than that all will work as good as new.

id only pretty much do that when there is snow in some areas and dry road in others.

how should i engage/disengage the transfercase then? can i be in "drive" moving at a slow speed?

What most people do in the snow is leave them locked, but not push the 4x4 button. When you need it go ahead and click the button to lock in the T-case. They will all work like the auto hubs with the exception of the front axle....that will always be spinning due to the fact that the wheels are locked in. As long as the t-case isn't sending power to the wheels you're still in two wheel drive.

i think all my questions about manual hubs have been answered! thanks again for all your help!
