Again... MANUAL windows, not power!!! Every thread I've found involves power windows. Mine are old fasioned crank a handle to make them go up and down... Or at least they were yesterday till the rear driver door one went POP!
Pulled the panel off and all the cables still feel in tact. Almost seems as if something inside the mechanism failed and the cables are all tangled up inside.
Anyone have an experience fixing them or should I just try my luck at the junkyards in finding an Explorer with manual cranks and try to just replace the whole mechanism?
Anyone know how the cables actually attach to the window and come loose?
The ford and chiltons manuals both suck when it comes to this area!
For now I got the window pushed up and tossed a pare of vice grips on the rail to keep the window up and people out... Reassembled it and just left the window crank off for the time being.
