When I first saw that Explorer sitting in the dealer's lot I THOUGHT she had potential. After finding this site...I KNEW IT! Thank You to everyone for giving me inspiration (by posting your pics) and LOTS of usefull information! Hopefully I can help someone, too! These pictures are not very high quality, but can I have a minute to shine?

The speck on the right is my father's Cherokee!

I did the 2"TT front with shackles and add-a-leaf in rear. I also made my own intake adapter for a cone K&N filter. The 3" body lift was off my old S-10 Blazer. This lift can be purchased for $70.00. I made my own bumper brackets and only had to buy about 4 bolts. It is a lot cheaper than buying the Ranger lift. I did buy the shifter ext. because I have a manual trans. I lengthened my steering shaft by cutting and welding a piece in. (see picture) This has got to be stronger than the extension piece in the Ranger kit and definitely a lot cheaper. If anyone is interested maybe I can do a "How to".
The tires are 33/10.50/15" B.F.Gs on stock wheels with 4.56s to turn them. I had the gears installed for $350. (yes..350 total to do front AND back!) If anyone near the PA area wants this guys number just Email me. Drop off your truck in the morning and pick it up the next day after supper! This guy is awesome and has done more rears than a Catholic Priest! :nono:

I'll work on the "How To", but you can probably figure it out.
I'm happy with the way my Sport turned out and everyone seems to like it...even Chevy guys! Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope someone is inspired like I was.

GOD BLESS THE U.S.!!!
I am Catholic and I hope nobody gets offended...now I now why they call them "Alter" boys...Ok I'm done!

That's agreat looking truck. It looks like you really know your stuff. I wish you gear guy was a Westcoaster 'cause that's a great deal. What's next? Are you gonna remove the 'nerf' bars? Bumpers?

I have no plans to take the nerf bars off. I like them and my daughter and I use them to get in and out! We are both kinda short. There are still some things I'd like to do to it. I wouldn't mind making my own brush guard and a spare tire holder for on the roof. I am building my daughter a mini buggy and am thinking of buying a tubing bender anyway.

The priest thing was just a joke...it seems that's all you read about anymore. What does LMAO mean anyway?

what is this custom front shock spacer? Why did u need it? Do u have pics?

Sweet Truck!

I am very impressed with it.

Are you interested in coming on a group trail ride sometime?

SCEXPLORER The shock spacer is actually a smaller version of the body lift block. It is only an inch long. I only needed the spacers for the front. When I did the TT, I made sure to get the full 2". This pretty much extended my shocks to their limit. To avoid breaking them (pulling apart on full extension) when you hit a dip in the highway the spacer "pushes" them down an inch. It basically allows my shock to extend instead of topping out. This allowed me to run the shorter shock in its "stroke" or intended range. The shocks are brand new and I didn't want to spend money on another set.

I don't have a picture, but they could be made from lots of different materials like steel, aluminum, or nylon. The thread on top of the shocks only allows room for 1 inch along with the stock bushings. You can make it look like a doughnut. I placed a washer on the shock and then put the spacer below the bottom shock bushing and installed as usual. If you need more info, email me and I can make you a diagram or try to get a picture.

Jason_25 My truck is mainly a daily driver and I tow a small buggy with it. I would love to go to Paragon someday, but it would have to be on the easy trails! I don't want to break/bash anything! I live about 4 hours from Paragon. How can I join your club?

Hey mascman,

Hey mascman,
I noticed in your pictures that you have all wheel drive, how did you do that, do you have a different transfer case then the stock one? just curious, i doubt i would ever do the mod. thanks for the knowledge.
and by the way, your truck looks great, very well done, nice and clean looking. kevin priest

The pics in the older posts are from Yahoo. You can't link to them...that's why they don't work. Check out the link to see them. They are a little outdated, though.
