As some of you know, my dachshund Spencer died on 4-19-11 On May 1st my daughter's pretty calico had a litter of 5 kittens, 4 girls and 1 boy. Since our roommate who owns the place where we live is not too keen on dogs, I can't have another one, so my daughter asked if I'd like a kitten when they are weaned from their mother. The runt of the litter snagged my heart and is helping ease the loneliness from losing my boy Spencer although she will never replace him. I've named her Shanelle Rose and she will be called Shani for short.
