Anyone heard of swaping a om617 motor into an explorer? Took some measurement at the junkyard and seems like a pretty good fit.

This company makes trans adapters for gm and toyota manuals

turbo om617 has 123 hp at 4350 rpm, 181 lb·ft @ 2400 , high reving smooth diesel thats super reliable

The mecedes engine is a great engine for a swap. Its a high rev'er, long lasting motor. It makes good power. Its not that heavy. Dont use the mercedes auto. It robs a ton of power.

mercedes engine is around 5.5" longer than the 4.0. You would need to relocate the radiator and fan to fit it in the engine bay.
