Message Center Issues

I my 2002 Explorer 4.0 message center won’t clear from oil change required. It will display press reset to clear, but becomes unresponsive afterward. Then, it returns to oil change required. I am not able to go through set up to run a system check to reset oil change indicator. Thoughts?

Thanks! I found that post to, but can’t follow the instructions for the above mentioned reasons.

only othe thing i can think of is disconnect battery to "restart" it then! not sure, as ive never had one of those fancy message centers
