Message Center - Need Help!!!!!!

I recently did a Message Center Mod on my '97 Mounty. Wired per the various threads (thanks all, it helped alot). Powered up and seems to work fine with one exception....mpg readout remains at 99.9mph.

Now if this were true I'd feel great, my gas cost would be cheap and I'd be answering how'd you do questions.

Sadly I'm in the 11-14 range like everyone else, but I'm trying to figure out what might be causing the issue. I can reset my miles driven (and it is accurate), but my miles to empty continues to increase. I also get an accurate fuel level read.

Anyone have any ideas? Does it sound like a bad message center?

Obviously, the VSS is hooked up correctly (it knows how fast you're going for the trip odometer). If DTE works, then that means it knows the fuel level as well. Did you hook it up to the right pin on the ECU? Pin 43, blue/pink wire. That's the fuel flow wire.

On some of the EB & Limited edition Explorers, you had a small little console message center that gave information on the system..
