is there a "reset" button on your dash? I think if you tap it while the oil message is displayed, it will go away... I think if you hold it too long, it will reset your trip odometer and lifetime MPG calculation, too...

resetting
On my 2005 explorer, I push "setup" and scroll through to "oil life", then push and release "reset" button and then immediately push and hold "reset". Good luck!
