Mirror paint

I am planning on repainting my mirrors. I wanted to know how to do that. Can i sand the mirrors with sandpaper? Also when it is time to paint them, how much paint to put on them and what type of paint? Thanks.

The last time I painted plastic mirrors I just removed them and used a degease agent (small amount of washing up liquid in water) dried with hair dryer and used the paint with the plasisizer additive like the do on plastic fenders. Worked a treat and lasted for years.

PS: yes you can rub them down use a fine grade though and make sure you wash them to remove the dust.
