OOOOK... I just looked at my budget for this and can not justify spending the amount it's goin to cost me to fix/upgrade what needs fixing/upgrading and to travel there and back with my ten year anniversary, my daughters bday and my sons bday all within three weeks of the trip. Due to my recent surgery (slow recovery) I cant even get the repairs and upgrades done myself, which is another cost all itself. I must graciously bow out this year. Next trip, count me in.... the wife has already said I could go and I can easily get the days off. Have a good time and I will be waiting for the trip report.

I find it strange they don't allow campfires. Kinda takes away the whole camping aspect of it.

KOA is open to the public. No membership needed to camp. The membership they offer is $24/yr, and you get 10% off each time you camp, anywhere you camp with them.

I can bring my own wood if they allow that, i has 20 or so cords in a barn on the farm. I can be as prepared as i need to be lol

Can anyone recommend any good (deluxe) camp sites? I noticed the BLM does not do reservations in or around Moab. And yeah, I'm considering KOA

Canyonlands....

KOA is basically a tree-less lot. Canyonlands may be in the center of town, but it sure doesn't feel like it when you're in there. Lot's of tree cover, nice place.

Also, be advised if you are "Tent Camping", Canyonlands is a bit like camping in a shade covered parking lot (as mentioned earlier) - - still highly recommended for location, but if you are in a tent, bring a sleeping pad. . .

FJ is getting prepped!

Sliders, front skid, LCA skids, shock skids, 3" lift with coils and shocks all ordered!

Next item to order is the ARB for the rear. Thanks to S.F.F. in CO, this will be installed on our way to Moab! :biggthump

Still deciding on which lights to run on the roof, grill, and backup.

48" highlift jack will be handed down from the Black Hole as it is getting a 60" replacement. Found some nice mounts for the highlift jack that are super simple to use, even a NHL player can figure out how to use them. :

Oh, and my beautiful better half, is picking out a color to have the new DOM sliders and the wheels powder coated before this trip.

What gauge steel is commonly used for skid plating?
