Random PTU related question that just came up in looking for revisions to the PTU... Anybody have any clue what this part does?

It’s sort of a wiring harness type thing with some electronics listed on the PTU parts diagram. Since I thought the PTU was essentially dumb hardware with no electronics, and since the uncooled PTU supposedly has no temperature sensor, I’m baffled as to what this part does. Any ideas?
