Mojave Road and Death Valley, March 2011

Mojave Road Meeting Time

I'd like to move the meeting time at Avi Casino on Monday, the 21st to 10:00 AM.

In the morning, I will need to go to the grocery store in Bullhead City and pack the truck - I'm not sure I can get everything complete by 9:00.

I will get there as soon as I can, but want to let everyone know it might not be as early I had hoped.

Let's run on channel 4. If that's busy, channel 10.

Updated first post...

...I am so redy to leave for this trip...:bounce:

...Sadly, I be rockin the Ranger without being able to get much done before I leave...

..I did make it home and the stupid phone keeps ringing for work..I got's bills to pay so I'm taking care of business instead of working on the truck...

..:shifty_ey but I did get some shopping done while I was running around today...I will update my "Expedition" thread in a bit...

...Looks like the weather will be coming in fri-sun but we will see...:D

...In other news...Ever wonder What Causes Wash Board Roads?

Well I think the Explorer is as done as it is going to get. I didn't have time to get started on the dual battery. I did get the suspension finished up which was big and did a few maintenance items today - checked trans and t-case oil, installed new fuel filter and tightened the rear t-case yoke which was fairly loose.

10AM @ AVI is good for me so I wont have to be in such a rush.

I'm anxious to let my new (front) shocks eat on some wash board roads :D

...If I don't get anything else done this weekend, I have to get my dual battery set up done for this trip..:hammer:

...I got to get power to that big fridge..:D

I really wanted to get mine done too. Guess I will just set the ARB on low so it will shut off and not drain my battery. Maybe I will run an extension cord over to your Ranger when your not looking :p:

...Lmao...:mattmoon:

..:shifty_ey ..Or, we could run cords to Scott's and his Dad's Rangers then jump start them each morning..:D

I am reading this thread, you know...:p:

I put new front brake pads on last night, and think I have the truck all packed up. Checked the SWR on the radio - it's negligible. The new radio should work quite well.

I need to figure out how to tie some stuff down in the back, then I'm all ready to go!

...Saturday afternoon is going to prove interesting...

...That's when I plan to unload the overstocked (with tools) Ranger bed and try and figure out how to smoosh all this stuff into the back...

...I might have to buy some new bungies and strap the spare tire to the roof..:D

I've been following this thread and I'm jealous;) I have been trying to figure if I could manage to make this trip and another I already had planned for early April... Unfortunately, no can do:banghead:

Have fun out there, take lot's of pics, and be safe!:chug:

... Come on, do it ..:shifty_ey...You know you want to..:biggthump

C'mon Rick - we haven't wheeled together for so many years...

..It's a Ranger thing...:p:..I think this may be the first time that Rangers out number Explorers on a run...:D

Explorers are Ranger-based vehicles.:D

Just sayin...

...But we will still have to deal with, "Whose white one is that?"..:p:

Yeah, that's always the case...

It's going to be a little colder than I was planning...

Better pack extra cold weather clothes.
