Good Price on Reflexes
Just ordered 4 Monroe Reflexes for my 95XLT on 7/22 from autoparts.giant.com. Currently shipping is free, for how long I don't know. Price as follows:
Fronts Part # 911122 36.34
Rears Part # 911035 36.56
Handling Charge of 2.95 Total was 145.80
Found another site carparts.com that who had em for 152.52 shipped which included a 30.00 off first time buy.
Well, Mr. cheapskate here figures he'll tweak out an additional 10 % off the 145.80 price since carparts.com advertised they would beat any competitors price if lower by 10 %. Called them carparts.com) twice to stake my claim only to be on hold 1 1/2 hours the first time and 1 hour the second time. Lost 2 1/2 hours of my life and nothing to show for it. To top it off I go email them and to voice my displeasure only to receive an error message in receiving my email and instructed me to call customer service. What a joke, looks like another dot com to bite the dust.
Also if your doing a self-install I advise you to a search on this site for "shocks" and you will find some very good tips about installing them. Seems like many have broken off the studs holding the lower fronts and turned into a very expensive job. Lube everything up with WD40 several times and days before attempting to remove, you won't regret the aggravation it may prevent. I have lubed mine several times already and today attempted to loosen and they did without problems. I will lube them some more while waiting for the shocks to arrive.
Keep in mind they use metric wrenches so make certain you have the tools before you attempt the job.
The rear bottoms call for an 18 mm and 14 MM box wrench. The rear tops require either a 13 MM box or shallow socket. Drop the spare to have easy access to the top 4 nuts (2 Each shock)
The front tops require a 15 mm deep wall and the bottoms require a 13 mm deep wall or 13 mm box wrench, which will take longer.
I decided on the Monroe Reflexes since I don't do any off roading and wanted a good ride at a fair price.
Couldn't get any locally since Pep Boys does not carry them nor does Auto Zone. I found them at Napa for 49.95 each but not under the Napa name not Monroe.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
