Hi everyone,
My dad has a 2003 explorer xlt w/a power moonroof. His driveway is a hill, and he normally parks facing downhill, however, when he does this and it rains, he will have water trickle out of the overhead console (map lights + switches). I guess it makes a bit a of a mess, as he keeps complaining about it. This doesn't happen if he parks facing uphill, but since I don't consider that a solution, I would like to know if anyone out there has heard of such a problem or has any insight into how I would go about fixing this.

oh hey thanks, I'll be sure to try that out

The sunroof drains are clogged. There are four holes, one at each corner, inside the channel of the sunroof opening. Rain that gets past the seal of the glass pools in that channel, and drains out those holes, down tubes that run down the A and B pillars and onto the ground.

Those holes get clogged with dirt, rust, bugs, and what have you.

Blow them out with an air gun, or use a long thin wire (a thin wire hanger can work) to gently push them out, and your problem will be gone.
