As usual beyond making my car look good I'm always trying to make it run better.Just to let you guys know it's the 5th and i shouldn't be at work, but sure enough here I am.....slackin! Not really just not too much to do today. Anyways I wanted to address a few plans for the near future I have in the works for my 93 X. It's looking good now I'm always adding things to it, I usually do something to it every week I get paid.
I just recently replaced the rear drums and shoes, this week I'm putting in the front rotors and taking the pad i bought back, and getting new ones.....I love warrantys! Then I'm bleeding all around and the brakes should be good a new. I'm also putting in the clear corners this week got them at a pretty good price at a new performance shop that opened up, 25 for the corners and 25 for the blinker casing.
Anybody know the easiest way to install the corners and the blink covers? And I wanted to replace the Headlamp covers as well, there is an autobody manufacture down the street that sells them at a decent price. Mines are kinda funky looking compared to the new ones....
A couple of other things I wanted to toss around the board are things like I was thinking about getting a bigger Mass Air Flow Sensor, a friend told me it would give a nice boost to the HP, and would work even better with the Cold Air Intake. He said he was thinking about a 35-40 HP Increase if not more....Any thoughts? Suggestions....advice?
I was also looking at exhaustI currently have a stock exhaust except for an add-on I had welded to the back to make the exhaust stick out from under the bumper. I put the JCWhitney Light up exhaust tip in red (cause it's legal!) on, looks good, but I was thinking converting to a dual exhaust system. But before I do, I'd like to know how it's going to effect the car, should I go with a Hi-Flow system? How will it affect gas mileage? How hard is the process?
I also eventually have to replace the lower intake manifold on the passenger side, I was getting a coolant leak from there, that a good bottle of stop leak stopped completely but I still want to change it, just in case. Anyone done it before? Hard to do? Cost?
Suspenion is a little adventure that I'll be going into right after the brakes. My truck at the moment is very bouncy and the roads here in Milford kinda suck. I'm changing all the shocks all around but I wanted to know if the regular brands like Monroe and what nots would be good with a lowered suspension. I'm dropping the truck about 1 1/2" - 2" very soon and I'm wondering if it's going to be too much for those shocks to handle, if so which would be better?
What kind of Leaf Springs would be good? Mine are dead they squeak at the slightest touch, and it's very annoying. I have to change the ball joints as well which is not a problem. Any other things i should check? Any advice? I believe that with a 2 inch drop and 18 inch rims with smaller and wider tires the truck will look awesome. I don't want to go too big on the rims because I'd have to reduce the tire size and the pot holes here in milford would eat a low profile tire for breakfast plus rubber band tires are too ricer for me.
Is there anyway to fix an A/C Problem, I think my AC Compressor is lacking pressure, because I put refridgerant in the lines and all but I'm getting very low air pressure, the air is not coming out at cold as it did when I first got the truck about 5-6 months ago...Any suggestions?
Thanks guy, I'll be putting up pictures of my X soon!
