Just wanted to share my new project.

I come from a drag racing back ground and wanted something to drive in the winter that was cool,
Started with a 1997 Merc Mountaineer....Not that cool But it will be.

What do y'all think?

Well Thats how it sits now.

Next bending some tail light bucket covers to weld in to the end of the bed caps and boxing the end of the bed.
My net tail gate should be here soon.

Then Its body filler and paint time.

My Main reson for posting here is lift Ideas????
I AM NOT going to spend $1500+ on a torsion type suspension lift.

have any of you guys done the Ranger body lift on explores and Mountaineers?

I think I saw a post on here but not sure..
Also do you have to extend the steering shaft or anything else.

Gonna slap some 32" mud tires on this thing and was also looking for fender flairs but aftermarket parts for Explores and Mountaineers are like unicorns they dont exist!

Damn! From the thread title, I thought I was going to see a roofline lowered (chopped) 6" like a hotrod!
Oh well, still a cool project. Kind of a fugly unibody Ranger!
Anything going to happen with the engine, given your drag background?

5.0 with a MSD ignition, Mustang heads,comp cam and spring, Cold air intake-witch i want to change to a snorkle.
Has factory headers so just gonna throw some flowmasters on it and see how it does with that.

e303 cam, Full exhaust and a tune.

Cut off 800lb..This thing is a rocket in the Dirt/Mud.
