I want to put a compartment in the back of the mounty in the area above where the spare tire would go, not too deep but the more I can get the better, but I have a few questions.

Is there any issue if I move the evap canister over towards the drivers side of the vehicle more? I will have to modify/make new mounts. Any problem if it sits lower than it is now?

Is the crossbar that used to hold the spare tire winch system structural? If I remove it will I be compromising anything? I dont plan on having to move it but just incase.

Thanks

I wouldn't take the spare tire mount out. That pretty much ties the rear frame rails together. Far as the EVAP I don't see why you can't move it. But just be careful if your truck is as rusted as mine. If it's not leaking now you'll probably cause a leak moving those lines around.

Thanks! SoCal, no rust on this truck

I'm so jealous. I would still own so many vehicles if I didn't live where I do. Just spent $2,000 having the radiator support replaced on my F-150 because it rotted out and the body mounts collapsed. So many great vehicles scrapped up here because they rot out yet still have so much life left.
