I'm going to be putting a Magnaflow muffler on and was curious if any of you had an idea as to the size of the stock muffler? Is it offset at all? I'll be keeping my stock piping and I'd like the exit to be exactly the same location as it is right now.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but my truck's a 4.6L.

I'm not confident that I'll order the correct size and do not have the resources to look under my car for another two weeks:confused:

im pretty sure the magnaflow is quite similar to flowmaster mufflers... i have the offset inlet and center outlet and its worked in the stock location

Magnaflow won't suggest universal mufflers for any makes/models, but Flowmaster suggested 5x10x17 - 23" overall length.

So the decision looks like it's made! My decision

based off the dimensions of THIS:p: 5x10x17 - 23" overall

on a universal muffler like this, does it matter which direction it goes? like does it specifically have to be offset inlet/center outlet, or just as long as one is offset and one is center its good to go? for example if it was center inlet/offest outlet, can you just flip it over and it will work?

I think it depends. For chambered mufflers, it does matter which end is the inlet & outlet. However for the Magnaflow, there's not any chambers so it doesn't matter. Not a Flowmaster fan, so I'm not familiar with the internals of them...
