OK, after a little confusion on the Steering box (thanks to those who helped!)
I have aquired some of the parts I need:

I got a PS Gear Box for a 69 Bronco/F150 Pictured below

I got a Dana 44 Detriot locked, 5:13 Geared, Totally rebuilt Axle from a 1978 F-250, also pictured below

I am using Poison Spyder Customs for my Heims and steering links.

What Leafs are good for up front?
I was told Jeep grand Wagoneer ft leaves arced for a 5 in lift will work well...

Daniel

Cant wait to get this project started! :burnout:

all I need now to get started is a BW 4406 Transfer case and an idea for what leaves to use up front. :dunno:

Here are a few shots of the springs I'll be using, 4.5" Rubicon YJ Extreme Duty 5 leaf packs with 2 added leafs.

This looks like the way to go on the springs. I think it worked out well for cdsl227

Any input?

I'm using stock Wagoneer springs. I was thinkng about using those RE springs pictured, but after throwing on some stock YJ springs, the weight of the Explorer bent them into an "S". That's when I changed the mounts and went with the slightly longer and beefier Waggys.

I would stay away from anything for the Heep. The Explorer is just too heavy and having the 5.0 doesn't help.

Thanks for the heads up...

how high are your rockers and what size tires are you runing? I want to run 37-38 In TSL Boggers.... Possibly 40's...

BTW: Nice truck!

Thanks!

I would look into the Rancho 44044's if you want to run 38s. They're a 2" lift spring. Mine is on stock springs and clears 35's no problem. My buddy had a Tacoma running the 44044s and 37s. It worked well.

Of course it all depends on where you're placing your spring hangers and shackles.

40's make the dana 44 go boom:(

Yeah I agree...I am looking into building this one...

It already has the bigger axles that are made out of a different kind of metal (chrome moly???) supposed to take 44's....

I just want to get it up so I dont have to gut it to run in the mud. I want to make it through just about anything and I like my interior like it is :D

38's would do.

I can get some 4" lift Wagoneer springs and clear 38's no problem.

This is not a daily driver and AL has no lift laws so Im stoked!

hey, a tip: the flower button on your camera puts it into macro mode which allows you to take up close shots with fine quality, no blurring out like that last pic

OK I got the Springs, the BW 4406, the Dana 60 Rear and Dana 44HD Front Axles, and I have a steering kit from Ballistic Fabrication on the way, Its about teardown time....

I am working on the pics - I have to downsize them and Ill get them on later.

FINALY!!!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!:D
