Places like Pep Boys have these plasic cups that are able to be added to the back of a speaker to give it it's own little enclosure. I don't know how well these work, though, but they are pretty cheap, so and you could probably use them to at least hold some poly fill in them to baffle the rear similar to how your stock one's were enclosed to cancel back waves. Maybe those would work. Good luck!
I ordered 2 sets of Clarion ProAudio Speakers SRC5752 for my 99 Explorer Limited with MACH audio system.
Rear speakers fit perfect.( Buy a panel puller from any auto store for $6-$15...makes is sooo much easier popping door panels off). They sounded better thhan the crappy paper stock ones.
As for the front ones... the stock front speakers were very good!! Came with a 5" and seperate tweeter enclosed in a sealed case that fit in the door bracket. I installed one new clarion in the right door and compared the two side by side.
To my displeasure the stock one sounded better...probally because it was inside a sealed case and my new one was exposed, in the back, openly to the whole door.
So I only replaced the rear ones and kept the stock front.
Does anyone had a similar experience? Do they make molds to house speakers in doors. my rear speakers had a plastic shell which housed the speakers. Where the front just had holes to mount to and you could see the pwr window assy. behind the opening.
This is just my experience with my system thus far.
I guess I now have a set of speakers for sale now.

I wish I had my 99 Explorer here in Bosnia with me...
I have a question for those who replaced their front speakers. What was behind the stock front speakers on your explorer. Was it open to the whole door or was their a pocket that it sat in? What did you do to your front door setup?

In my 93 (should be similar to the 95+) there was just air. I might be experimenting with baffles and polyfill. I still have to finish my mounting bracket for my 6.5s. For now I sprayed sound deadener all over the inside of the door which made my stock speakers sound great. In the rear it looks like I can seal off the area behind the speaker with some plastic and foam rubber.
