You will like the Aussie locker--

Do you have one if so front or rear, how do they handle round-abouts & such on-road if a rear one is installed. I think a brown wire mod is needed for the front?
Sorry for the grilling, but no-one over here has that info :D

A new one, the batteries ran out in the camera just as I was getting to the umm interesting spot. Didn't get stuck or anything, just the track does a bit of a dog leg very narrowly between 2 trees & increases the ascent angle to boot.
It was fun watching all the wider 4b's, like Nissan's & Toyota's scraping through when up I come in my little, underrated, Explorer & get through easy as. :D

what is that box underneath the rear of the vehicle where the spare would normally go? Is it a skid plate or extra fuel tank?

-Marc

Hi Marcus, its a 2nd fuel tank, as stated in my signature, made locally here in Oz. It gives me a h/way range of up to 900klms, which comes in bloody handy if you do any inland travelling as the cost of fuel in country towns can be through the roof.

That's cool. sorry I didn't notice that in your signature.

...Seeing your pics make me wish I sould bring one of my trucks over and go wheeling with you mate...:D

Looking at your pic's I think I'd be the one taking all the pictures LOL, I wish we had access to shops & parts like that over here (dreaming).
I'd love to see your 4b over here showing up some of the Nissan's & Toyota's but.......
Here's a site showing a few of our Ozzie X's but have a look at other makes as well & you'll see what I mean.

Great looking X & I really like that pic in the gorge with rear wheel way up, looks **** hot!!!!

...I tell you what...If you could find a way to smuggle myself, my dog, and my truck in and out of there, I will haul all your parts to you...;)

...That would be an ultimate adventure for me......I wonder if anyone still hears from Foxy???

I would if I could but I can't so I won't, LOL.
It's good to see X's in groups out there doing stuff over there. We are to spread apart & not enough of us over here, although I've noticed about 8 in our small sea-side town/area (about 58,000) in a large area.

That bumper is killer. I want one for my 96.

It came with it off the show room floor even has the Genuine Ford Accessories sticker on it, don't you get them over there? :D

part prices

You guys in the US are lucky with your parts prices, ive just been quoted by 3 Ford dealers for the front hub assembly and this is for one $1300.00,lucky ive got two coming from the US for $274.00Aus including postage.

There's a guy over here in Qld (Brisbane) who doe's a lot of X stuff like recon motors & such cheaper than anywhere in Oz. I think he imports them from US, 98ex knows where he is, he's on a few forums over here (Oz) as well.

Got Another One LOL

Here's my new one, it's a 1999 XLT with much the same as my old 2000 except it has a body-lift instead of a susp lift, a stainless steel snorkel & a front auto-Locker -

That's just teasing! I'm going to get a front auto locker sometime in the future, what difference has it made for you? Are you running 31"?
