totally forgot my update for today. called the junkyards, cheapest axles, front and rear, is right at 250. 125 ea, i pull them. not a very big yard but i should be able to find a setup there.

i'm gettin the boot out of my house so we are moving in with her parents til we get on our feet again. i lost my job in november, hers in december, and we been unemployed since. we're takin any job we can get though...

donations?

my paypal is dixies_lost_son@hotmail.com in case anyone is wondering which slot to stick donations in, unless they are parts, then pm me

good news, sounds like a may have my extended radius arms sold for 240 shipped. if i can sell the rest of the lift i'll go get my axles :)

most likely brads in redmond. wanna get a waggy front thought about a 9" rear but may stick with my 8.8.

should i look for a leaf sprung waggy axle or a f series leaf sprung axle? any axle they have is 120-150. so front and rear would cost right at 240-300. then put gears on that, tires and wheels, spring hangers... i see how this can get costly.

good news is that i have my radius arms sold, 240 shipped as mentioned before. the rest of the ttb lift may be sold for 350, and i may have my tires and wheels sold for 200 if i can find some to throw on it for the sas. so i should have enough to cover the sas.

I still have the 77 Bronco D44 with disc brakes if you want it. Welded on c-wedges, not cast.

how much for that

Hello there. Well after reading the post (little confused). I to suffer from a condition. For now I am running 33 MT/R's on my truck. No lift. just minor fender trimming. I would personally stay with the 35 and 8.8. I follow my buddys with up to 38's in the deep snow and she has plenty of gear for now. If you do a sas go with the dana 44 from the early Bronco. I know as soon as I find one in my cold hometown I will be working on it. And as for the street queen. Sorry to say man thats wrong. Wrong in so many ways. Oh yeah and were about 4400 lbs. Mind ya thats with me and my buddy. Both close to 250 in it.

i really wanna sas but the wife stomped her feet and said some words i can't repeat tonight. i guess since we are in tight budget she said we'll get shocks and a pitman and just run the lift. she doesn't want me swappin it cuz she wants to be able to rebuild her 71 gmc and do some bodywork on it. its her truck and she built it. anyone got drop brackets for the stock radius arms?

I do. Along with other parts of the front lift.

wanna meet up in town?

wats your price on them

for the r/a brackets alone correct? what about the complete lift?

$25 for the RA brackets or $150 for everything you see in that pic.

might hit you up on the whole setup

This is the first I have read of this post or I would have Said something sooner..... Sorry about that.

Anyway, Here is the deal.... It all depends on what your gonna do and what you want to accomplish. I do agree that a dana 44 or bigger would be a better choice than a 30 Obviously. That's why I have a dana 44 front and a Dana 60 rear waiting to go into my truck. BUT......

If you are smart about how you drive and throttle application, you can make a dana 30 last. I am proof. Mine is still in and has been for about 6 or so years, with 37" tires none the less, and a V8..... My axle is bone stock also with a lunchbox locker. I have jumped my truck about 6-7 times also. I even Stuffed the front end so hard I broke a motor mount and I am pretty sure I slightly bent the axle housing where the knuckles weld on. It still works like a champ.

Here is the really nice thing about using a dana 30 wrangler.
-only 2" wider (you cant even tell)
-SAME bolt pattern as your wheels!!
-Readily available.
-Its a Cheap install.
-You dont have to get out to engage 4X4 (with 4X4 posi-lok)
-Readlily available (lots of jeeps are stepping up to 44 ;)
-its already set up for leaves.
-* I cant remember, I think the driveshaft bolts right up to the axle.

Here is the bad side....
-It is weak you gotta be carefull
-The "vaccum actuator" gets in the way of leaf mounting
*you have to offset your leaf mounts on the frame a couple inches*

The only way its worth it in my opinion is if you can do the work yourself or with a freind. Get a good deal on a Wrangler axle with your gearing already . Then Get a "4X4" Posi-Lok" off ebay or wherever... (This allows you to engage the axle manually from inside the truck. via a cable)
Then install it and when You can save the money up for bigger you will already be setup for it. It will be a much easier project.

Here is the bottom line....
-axle...................300?ish hopefully
-Posi-lok..............180
-4 longer shocks...300?
-2 Leaf springs......300 or less?
-Driveshaft modifications? Probably wont need to...
*depending how high your going you could probably use Jeep springs*
-SOA in the rear....Free (well I guess maybe 30$ for weld on perches.)
-Locker.................Free-200$

Here is another cool thing.... The wrangler axle has a two piece passenger side axle with a disconnect. The nice thing about this is if you want a CHEAP locker You can Weld the spider gears, buy a spool, or get a cheap lunchbox locker like I did. When you disconnect the axle for 2wd the tires can turn completely independent from each other. Just as if you have no locker. So the streetablilty is like stock. No need for an expensive locker.

This is getting wwwaaayyyy long so let me know if you have more questions or need pics!!
-Tim
