Hello all,

This is my first thread. I bought a 92 ford explorer 4x4 about three weeks ago and and have been trying to get it back into shape since then. My current issue is the radio system. It still has the stock CD Player in it. But it doesn't work; It seems that there is no power going to it(minus the illumination when the Headlights are on). At first I thought that that the stock player was bad so I replaced it with another player. Still had the same issue.

Unfortunately when I bought it there was no owners manual with it...I have a couple people assisting me with this and they feel like there should be another fuse box somewhere. All that we seem to be able to find is the one under the hood next to the battery, and the one under the steering column next to the e-brake. They think, since I have Power Everything, that there should be more fuses and there must be a third box somewhere. But I have yet to be able to prove or disprove that yet.

All I know is that after rewiring the new cd player the issue is still the same, whether its a wiring issue or a fuse issue, there's no power to the player and I'm at a loss...I am really trying to avoid taking it somewhere unless it is really needed. People are telling me that it is something small and I'm just overlooking it; hopefully that's the case.

If any of you have any ideas or links to an online manual, that would be much appreciated. Thank you all for your time.:exporange

so you have an aftermarket deck in there now, and it doesn't power up at all, no lights? i have a 97 and when i put a new deck in, it powered up, but i had no sound outta the speakers, due to a stock amp in the rear cargo area that has to either be bypassed or integrated.

Have you put a multimeter on the constant and switched power? If there isn't a fuse blown or you have a power wire disconnected somewhere you could always run a new power wire to the deck, and pull a switched source from somewhere directly to the head unit, or through a relay and see if that works.
