my trac is gonna be in off-road magazine!

hey fellas, just letting you know that i got an email today from one of the guys at off-road magazine and they said that my trac was going to make their reader's rides section in the jan 2013 issue which should be on the shelves in late nov.

im pretty happy about getting my trac in the mag, and i just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum for helping me build my rig up to where it would be worthy to get in a national magazine. i made sure to rep the forum to the fullest and told the guy that they should think about doing a story on the explorer scene and center it around all the great people here on EF.

We got a story in Perterson's from a 2009 Truckhaven run. There have been a few trucks from the site in those mags throughout the years.

thanks fellas, i really appreciate it, and i couldnt have built my X the way i wanted it without all the help from the forum. ive seen the story they did on ricks orange wonder and the truckhaven piece online, but our explorer community is so strong im hoping they feature more rigs from members, so i encourage everyone to write in to your favorite wheeling mag and let them know how us explorer guys get down.

the guy from the mag said they were looking for unusual rides that are out there on in the dirt and they said they really liked my 2wd aussie locked sport trac, and that by some of the pics i sent them that they could tell we have a lot of fun in it.

im hoping to see more of my sport trac bretheren in print in the future as well! i know there are plenty of us here that have rigs that have all the goods to be in print.

agreed wheeling mags see lots of early gen sploders and broncos and rangers the sport trac never had that cred. i hope yours being in there opens up the market a bit and gets us trac owners a lil bit more respect.

John "Rock" Johnstone had his Trac in a couple different mags before his passing. His trac was what got me wanting to build mine up and he showed me that our long wheel based SUT's could do anything any other truck out there could.

I never got around to sending pictures into any mags but have had my Trac in a couple different minitruck/ custom mags from when I had it at different custom car shows.

Both pictures are from Carlisle All Truck National's a couple years ago...

i remember when you scanned the original article on john rock and his trac and posted it. he inspired your build, guys like you and offtrac inspired my own build, and now i hope my rig will inspire someone elses' build!

i just got my new issue of off-road magazine in the mail and my trac is in it! so proud, and happy that my dogs are in the picture too. i told them that they were famous now!
