About a month ago my transmission started sticking in 1st gear until it warmed up. I know it's probably a gummed up governor. My question is there are two cables connected to the accelerator pedal, one obviously is the throttle cable but the other one to the right I think goes to the transmission, if I followed it correctly.
There is a lot of slack in this cable and doesn't actually make any kind of contact with the pedal unless it is depressed all the way and even then it doesn't pull on it.
Can anyone identify this cable and what it is. Is there supposed to be all that slack in it or is it broken? Is it possible that may be the reason for my shift issue?
