"Nasty Hoe Bandit" (1992 Navajo)

(For the history and previous ownership of this vehicle, please click here)

Well, I recently went down to Austin, Texas for the week and spent some time working with Kris Guillbeaux on his trucks and attending the John_Rock Memorial Run in Marble Falls. I had a great time and a blast down there. But I also went down there to pick up SVO's 1992 Mazda Navajo. This truck is pretty well known on the forum, and I am very honored to get the chance to continue building it. So with trailer in tow, I went on down and Kris and I hung with SVO and StangGirl for an afternoon, and also had some fun at MrQ's expense

The truck does come sans motor and transmission, and at the time SVO was planning a turbo coupe swap in it. My plans are to convert the truck to OBD-II with a SOHC V6 motor and 5R55E automatic with a manual 1354 transfer case to start off with. The front and rear axles do need a slight re-gear (currently 3.73) with the 35" tires. Ill get some more photos up today as I unload the truck and clean it out (it came with a lot of parts )

But here is how she sits now...

And finally home in Oklahoma :p:

A big thanks to Kris, Jeff and Lori for making this happen. Don't worry guys, the Nasty Hoe is in good company with the rest of the Bandit family :salute:

And with this truck, I also was voted in as a member of Demon4x4, yay! So hopefully I can wheel with you guys soon!

Nice find, but I'd put an engine in it before I worry about an alignment. :)

It will be good to see this rig on the trails again.

Agreed, but it will need the passenger drop bracket replaced either way so the truck walks correct, and should also help with the death wobble that this truck is accociated with.

So fun times at the bandit household...

SOOOOO, when we last left off, the Hoe was in the street. No biggie for the time being I thought. It can just sit out there till I clean a spot for it I thought....Well I was WRONG

Turns out the city decided to repave all the neighborhood streets and gave everyone on my street 24 hours notice to move vehicle or they would be towed. Well thank god I wasnt out of town. So while mad at the city (which isnt new) I managed to get my buddy craig and with a combo of pushing the Hoe with Stripe, and pulling it with Blue, we managed to get the Hoe in the driveway. In the pic below, the camera is level...that gives you an idea on the slope of my drive. Anyway, ranting off for now...

But some excellent news is to be had as well...

Thanks to my very good friend Mike (who bought Indy) I now have even more parts for the Hoe, which include (all second gen BTW):

4 Door gas tank and sending unit (will it fit, eh, ill find out)
SOHC Engine Bay Harness
97 EB Dash W/ complete wiring
Air intake box
ABS pump
Both splash fenders
Firewall
Cruise Control Module with Cable
Starter
Airbag Module

And some more, but can't remember off my head. All I really lack now is a transmission, PCM, steering column, and all the PATS related harware (yep, the Hoe is getting PATS...cause Im a glutten for punishment it seems)

And I plan to start working heavy on the Hoe this fall when it cools down a bit. Hopefully before then I can have the motor rebuilt (Shade's old motor, death rattle) and go from there.

And I finally found a front bumper design I want to use on the Hoe...

(credit goes to black91EB for design and build of his)

What do you all think?

I could add the turn signals into the bumper (as it was stock) and it would be the perfect place for a winch (seeing as Kris told me I have to be the rescue Demon...whatever that means  ). And to top it off, build a grille gaurd for it, i think I will be set! This makes me all excited :p:

Looks good Russell. See you've effectively contracted the off road bug.

LOL, something like that man. This will be a real fun project, and cant wait to drive it :D

So curious Russ even tho this is one of the last things for completion. Do you know what you're doing about the 4wd? Going with the 4405 or M1354 or keep e1354?

There yea go Glen :p:

Not sure why, but here are pictures of the Superlift radius arms...

I'd try to tuck that bumper in a bit more, if I were you. The one pictured is a bit of an approach angle piggy.

good advice randall. since the frame horns had already been cut off, i can tuck it quite nicely
