need advice 98 ranger

Any old farts out there got advice for a youngster? I am replacing the fuel filter and usually i dont release the fuel pressure but for some reason this time i cant pry the dam filter off. any one wanna explain to me where and how i can release the fuel pressure on a 1998 ford ranger

You should be able to pull it off without releasing the pressure. Every time I changed mine I just had to mess with the filter for 20 minutes until it easily slid right off. You have the filter removal tool, right?
Not sure what else to say, just keep fiddling with it.
If you want to release the pressure, the fuel inertia shutoff is behind the passenger side kick panel. Little block box with a red tab on top. Need to get that tab up, and it shuts the fuel off. Then I believe just crank the engine for a few seconds.
