Need advice on rear axle problem

I need help diagnosing a noise that is coming from the rear axle area. It is not a constant noise but it happens once every wheel rotation and its not the brakes. Im thing either the hub or cv. Any suggestions?

What kind of noise? A thump, scrape, grind?
Are you sure its not the e-brake shoes inside the rear rotor? they tend to make noise once they fall apart over time.
