NEED HELP--Cleaning lens in CD player.

I have a JVC head unit that wont play CD's. I know it worked before this winter before I took it out of my Jeep and put it into storage. I figure that it is the lens that is dirty causing the problem. I read the manual, and it says that if a CD is inserted upside down the player will automatically eject it. It does this even when the CD is inserted correctly and gives no error code.

It is a JVC KD-SX740. I think it is a 1999 model.

How can I clean the lens?

With the little time(@5seconds) the CD stays in before it ejects, will a lens cleaning disc do any good?

If it's not even keeping the disc in for more than 5 seconds, I doubt it is you lens. Sounds like something else is wrong to me.

It is doing as if the disc is upside down. I put a CD in it tries to read it, and automatically ejects. If the lens is really dirty, maybe it can't read the disc and thinks it is up side down. The HU was stored in the pool house, which is kinda exposed to the elements since the climate controls are inop in the winter.
