Hello all,
I haven't been around the forum that often lately but I am in need of some help trying to figure out a problem that has gotten substantially worse over the last few years. My Explorer has had a somewhat intermittent hard shift when downshifting from 4th into 3rd. It use to be a rare occurrence but now it is happening almost every other shift. It shifts perfectly fine through 1st 2nd and 3rd, but into and out of 4th is rough. I have attached 2 videos in hope that someone here can give me some guidance. I am trying to figure out if this could be something like a shift solenoid that I can replace while the transmission is still in the vehicle. If it is something more serious I may be looking at buying a new vehicle

I recorded these while the vehicle was warm, on a smooth road ( so none of the bump like noises came from the road ). The transmission shifts the same with the overdrive off and on.
