My mountaineer has the dual temperature control and I have been told by a repair shop that means I have more doors controlling the ac/heat. Most of them are under engineered and break easy, and to make it worse Ford does not produce replacements, nor are there aftermarket. If I can't identify it I have to put up with less than normal AC and heat. Or pay a shop to start dissembling until they find it and hope they can repair itbump, doesnt look familiar to me
Check YouTube for the fix. They put epoxy to fix it. I have two hinges/stems broken off doors in the vac system. One I have identified as the record door and plan on the epoxy fix. The one I uploaded the photos of I have no idea where it came from. Thanks for respondingCheck YouTube for the fix. They put epoxy to fix it. Ac fix on Ford Explorer.
Crazy prices. What does a person really need to drive a car, really just defrost and heat right? That’s off the door. No repair, pull apart, replace flap and vacuum actuator. $1,500+
Do you know which door. I have the dual heat and air it has more than the manual systemThat’s off the door. No repair, pull apart, replace flap and vacuum actuator. $1,500+
On our '04 explorer, we heard a rattling noise then that cylinder piece fell down at my son's feet from behind the glove box.I’ve only worked on the manual hvac, for that one, it’s to the right of the radio.
If you go to a wrecking yard, you can work on how to remove the dash. I believe there is a walk through here. Then do it on your own without breaking everything.
The way yours broke, is bad. It basically broke flush with the box. Mine broke with the arm before the connection piece. So I can wedge something in depending on the time of year, to get AC or Defrost.
It was always making like a squawking sound. It still does. At the time we had no idea what was going on. The other side must be getting to the breaking point. Looked up both issues on youtube but we are not mechanics, bummer. On our '04 explorer, we heard a rattling noise then that cylinder piece fell down at my son's feet.
