need help wiring a water temp guage

I just ordered a electrical water temp guage, and I know that the sender just goes in place of the factory sending unit on the manifold, but under the hood what wire do I hook it too, so that it has power, and what one do I hook it too, so it has lights? Thanks

Power can be any 12v wire. Probably wanna do one when ign is on. Maybe the windshield wiper or radio fuse? For lights, do you mean so the lights dim when your headlights are on? I use the dimmer wire that goes into the radio when I do something like that.
