need help with brakes

I am in the process of replacing the front brakes pads on my 93 explorer. My problem is that the piston wont go down any further. I still need another 3/8". Any suggestions?

get a new caliper. it has dirt or something blocking it from going all the way back in. if you have the money i would replace them on both sides.

pop the cap off the fluid resivour. also, use a c-clamp, with an old pad against the piston. then u should be able to retract it fully.
