On the driver side, under the 2nd row sent there is a connector missing wires to it. What is this wiring hardness for? If you were to sell someone a car with hidden damages or problems, what would be the purpose for removing this wire?

Sometimes vehicles will have wiring installed that is not used on every vehicle. I don't have a 5th gen anymore to try and check. It could be for those that have power fold 2nd row seats or perhaps for those that have heated 2nd row seats. I'm not sure if the 2013 Explorer had the inflatable 2nd row seatbelts or not.

^^^ peter would be spot on. Typically most harnesses are used across multiple trim lines. And there would be 3 features that the 2nd row could have had pending trim/options chosen (Peter listed all 3).

Awesome, thank you so much. I removed that stupid cover causing the rattling noise.
