Need help with my mounty

I just put in a camshaft synchronizer and now I'm having a lot of problems with the transmission. It seems like it's starting and staying in 2nd gear. It's a 98' with the 5.0. plus the engine still is running like crap.

I’m not a tranny expert, but I seem to remember reading that the 4R70W locks into 2nd when in limp mode? Don’t quote me.

If it is limp mode, it can be caused by an engine sensor, I believe. You sure the synchronizer was installed properly?
